Strong Stewards, Strong workplaces
Our voices will not be heard unless we make them listen. Become a Union Steward and be the Union in your Workplace. This Spring and Summer, we are offering a new Steward Apprenticeship Program. This training is designed for members who want to get more involved and is a pre-requisite for all members wanting to enter our Steward Apprentice Program. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the history and structure of AFSCME, the current status of contract negotiations, information on how to solve problems, fight on issues and every member's rights and responsibilities. Stewards who complete the Apprenticeship will be invited to our Steward Convocation in mid-September.

We are looking for members who are willing to:
Communicate to your workplace about union events, wins, campaigns, etc.
Bring your coworkers to union events / actions
Attends Council and Local Events / Meetings
Sign up your coworkers to be union members
Represent your coworkers if they are pulled into disciplinary meetings with management
File and represent people at grievances
