AFSCME Maryland Council 3 Primary Guide
On May 30th, 2018 our Executive Board conferred and unanimously voted to support the follow candidates running for: U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Maryland Senate, Maryland House of Delegates and local Central Committee positions.
We take endorsements seriously. As the largest union for state and higher education employees, we represent over 30,000 public employees across the State of Maryland. Protecting public services, keeping our members in the middle class and fighting to fill the more than 2,400 vacancies identified by the Department of Legislative Services last year are among our top priorities in Annapolis every year. We trust our endorsed candidates to act in the best interest of all public employees and join us in our fight to make Maryland great.
This endorsement is given with the expectation that these candidates, if elected, will support worker’s rights and stand in solidarity with us against right wing attacks on the rights of public employees to organize. Don’t forget to vote on June 26th, 2018 7am until 8pm OR Early Vote from Thursday, June 14, 2018 through Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 10 am until 8pm.
