AFSCME priority legislation passed this year means over 800 state hospital workers in the Maryland Department of Health will now be eligible to participate in the Correctional Officers’ Retirement System (CORS) 20-year retirement plan.
Eligible Classifications
On July 1, 2024, MDH employees at ESHC, Finan Center, Potomac Center/SETT, Spring Grove, Springfield, and the RICAs in Baltimore and Rockville in one of the following classifications will be transferred into the Correctional Officers’ 20-year retirement system:
- CAMH Associate – CI
- Developmental Disability Associate – CI
- Direct Care Assistant – CI
- Licensed Practical Nurse – CI
- Resident Associate SETT – CI
- Security Attendant
