Local Government Steward Training

When: 9:00AM - 5:00PM

In this training, we focus on the nuts and bolts of becoming an effective shop steward. A steward has important roles and responsibilities within the union that include signing up new members, getting others involved in the union, keeping co-workers up to date on what the union is doing, and representing co-workers with management.

This training will specifically be for our local government employees so there can be a focus on issues affecting these employees.

The training will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. Location is TBD (likely 1410 Bush Street, Baltimore, MD 21230 or somewhere in Howard County)

Space in trainings is limited! If the training fills up, please reach out to your rep for other ways to participate in your union.

Make sure to also communicate with your staff rep to ensure you receive the proper release time.
