USM Wage Fight Town Hall

The University System of Maryland (USM) is refusing to honor our union contract, denying both the 2.5% merit increase and the $500 base pay raise for more than 6,000 workers. USM leadership claims they lack the funds to provide the 2.5% merit increase and the $500 base pay raise, citing an ongoing dispute with the Department of Budget and Management over funding. AFSCME disputes this claim and maintains that the funds are available.
